Tinnitus is often misdiagnosed as a mental condition especially if it does not have a basis for diagnosis. Many patients are misinterpreted as having some hallucination resulting to their depression. Some may even commit suicide due to depression. Tinnitus is not a fatal condition but it should not be left alone because it may signal underlying condition. Physicians cannot just give any cures for tinnitus because Tinnitus should be cured according to the its cause. For example, if it is caused by high blood pressure, doctors prescribe anti-hypertensive medications to prevent Tinnitus due to increased blood pressure.
